Flaking paint, soft or spongy timber, sagging gutter lines and staining on the boards are the usual signs. If the timber is rotten the gutter fixings eventually give way, so it is worth dealing with before a winter storm finds the weak spot.
We replace as standard. Capping over sound timber has its place and costs less, but capping rot just hides it while it spreads. We will tell you which your roofline actually needs after a proper look.
